MEET THE INSTRUCTORS

Mark Stark

Grand Master

 

Grand Master Stark started his journey into martial arts in 1979, training under Grand Master Mu Gil Lee. Grand Master Lee moved to the United States in the early 1970’s and is credited for spreading the art of Taekwondo in the Midwest. During this period GM Stark also trained under David Summers. GM Stark was promoted to 8th degree black belt, Grand Master in April 2021.

GM Stark is a retired Army SFC and served as a level II Instructor in the Modern Army Combatives Program, teaching Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai, Kick Boxing, Western Boxing, and Wrestling. He is a Combat Lifesaver and an Army Master Fitness Instructor.

ACHIEVEMENTS

GM Stark has an extensive competitive career that spans 4 decades.

  • He was a member of the Armed Forces Martial Arts Team while stationed in Europe.

  • He is a 5-time Arizona State Champion, and

  • A runner up middle weight at the Martial Arts World Championships in Las Vegas.

Teddy Stark

Master

Master Stark started his martial arts training in 1993 at the age of 3. Master Stark was fortunate in that he was able to get one-on-one training from his father Grand Master Stark.Master Stark earned his Black Belt in 1998. He was promoted to the rank of 6th degree black belt master in April 2022.In addition to Tae Kwon Do, Master Stark trains in Shotokan, Chinese Kenpo, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Master Stark is an excellent martial artist and a fantastic instructor.​ACHIEVEMENTS3-time Arizona State Champion, competing under open martial arts fighting rules.Runner up black belt at the Martial Arts World Championships in Las Vegas Nevada.

 

 

Addison Bond

Sensei

Sensei Bond is a 1st Degree Black Belt in the SATKO organization, and he is the most recent addition to our charter school club program. He is an excellent martial artist and a fantastic martial arts instructor. In addition, he comes from a strong gymnastics background, and is an expert level BMX racer who coaches and mentors junior BMX riders as well.

 

We are fortunate to have Sensei Bond in our organization. He fully understands and lives by the SATKO philosophies and principles.
